12 Years a Slave (2013)

join us for a film screening of '12 Years a Slave (2013)' a film based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a free black man from New York who is kidnapped and sold into slavery in the pre-Civil War South, where he endures brutal treatment under various slave owners while desperately trying to maintain his identity and fight for his freedom, ultimately finding a glimmer of hope through a chance encounter with a Canadian abolitionist.
