What it means to you?

This traditional Brazilian dessert is adapted from French cuisine, its name comes from the word 'pavage' which means pavement. This is due to the way the dessert is assembled, with layers of cream and biscuits.
Pave is typically served at family gatherings on Sundays and a popular christmas dessert., and my mother taught me her no-bake easy to make version.

There are a couples parts to assemble the Pave, the white creme, chocoalte creme, and meringue, which takes about 20 minutes.

Preparation:
  1. White Creme: 1. Create a corn starch slurry by mixing 1 cup of whole milk 3 table spoons of corn starch. 2. On a deep pot add the slurry, 1 can of condensed milk, 1 drop of vanilla extract, and 3 egg yolks. Mix on medium heat until thickened, lower the heat once the mixture is boiled and remove from stove
  2. Chocolate Creme: Create a corn starch slurry by mixing 1/2 cup of whole milk with 1 tablespoon of corn starch. Add the slurry and 4 tablespoons of chocolate powder to a pan over medium heat. Mix until thickened, lower the heat once the mixture is boiled and remove from stove
  3. Meringue: Mix three cold egg whites, once the whites are starting to get thickened, slowly start adding 6 tablespoons of sugar (my mother recommends using brown sugar). The meringue is done whipping, when the egg makes stiff peaks, it stands straight up and has a slight curve at the tip. Add 1 can of cold table cream (be sure to remove the watery fluid) and mix gently.
  4. Milk Mix: On a plate mix 1/2 cup of whole milk, sugar to taste, and one drop of vanilla extract. Optional: Add one shot of Kahlua or Baileys liquor.
  5. Assembly: Add a drizzle of chocolate creme to the bottom of a oven safe dish. Cover the bottom of with lady finger (dipped in milk mix for two seconds). Add the white creme, then chocolate creme, follow this layering order. The last layer should be the Meringue. Leave in the fridge for at least 2 hours. .
